TriStarr Talent is looking for an Electrical Drafter/Designer for an 8 month open ended contract who will be responsible on helping Engineering on technical design of Electrical Schematics, Panel Layouts, One-Lines, and other associated electrical drawings for gas processing and refrigeration systems.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Create accurate, detailed technical plans for electrical systems using latest version AutoCAD Electrical to convert specifications and design information from engineers into schematics and blueprints.
  • Collect, study and combine rough sketches and initial design ideas from engineers into coherent technical drafts for further study and review by project managers.
  • Prepare comprehensive wiring diagrams for electrical equipment, design information and engineering specifications.
  • Check that final technical drafts include all relevant information in an easy-to-read format, and verify that calculations, measurements and units are accurate based on initial design information from engineers.
  • Review technical drafts as needed according to verbal or written instructions from project engineers, manufacturing and project management.
  • Design Drawings include, but not limited to: One-line drawings, Control Panel Drawings, 2D layout drawings used for Electrical field work and connections, Hazardous Area Identification, Lighting, Cable Tray/Conduit layout.
  • Participate in design process by supporting engineers and designers, contributing ideas and information and creating rough sketches and diagrams of electrical wiring and systems on the fly.
  • Assist designers and project engineers as needed in preparing technical documents, data import templates and CADD program symbols to accommodate needs for electrical design and data entry.
  • Attends project coordination meetings with internal project members and/or external customers.
  • Support electrical engineering deliverables on multiple projects in a dynamic work environment.
  • Prepare data lists/sheets for procurement of mechanical components.

Requirements :

  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical is a must.
  • Capability to understand and read/draw ISA P&ID and Electrical symbols.
  • 3-5+ years drafting experience creating One-line drawings, Control Panel Drawings, 2D layout drawings used for Electrical field work and connections, Hazardous Area Identification, Lighting, Cable Tray/Conduit layout
  • Ability to be very detail oriented in creating electrical symbols (i.e. Chassis Layout, terminal blocks, panel layout blocks).
  • Proficient with MS Office Excel and MS Office Access.
  • An associate degree in Drafting & design is preferred OR 3+ years’ experience is accepted.

  • Experience in Electrical project design.
  • Experience with 3D design software.
  • Knowledge of electrical design.
  • Experience with MicroStation schemas.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio.
  • Database manager experience.
