Project Manager - Paint Production and Engineering
Location: Princeton, IN

Type of hire: Contract, long-term with ongoing potential.
Travel: 10%
Expected Overtime: 20%

Position Summary:

The Project Engineer will report to the Paint Production Engineering Manager and provide support for capital projects, major/minor model changes, and daily production operations. This role is based in Princeton, IN, and requires close collaboration with internal and external teams, including engineering project leaders, pilot teams, logistics, maintenance, and other production engineering groups.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning (50%): Lead project planning for major/minor model and capital expenditure (CapEx) projects.
  • Schedule and Milestone Development (30%): Create and manage PFS (Project Financial Status) and project schedules, highlighting critical milestones. Report on project status and escalate critical concerns as needed.
  • Technology and Vendor Development (10%): Identify and develop new technologies and vendor relationships for Production Engineering (PE) to enhance process efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Benchmarking and Kaizen (10%): Benchmark other NAMCs to identify Kaizen (continuous improvement) opportunities to improve quality, reduce costs, and reduce CO2 emissions.

Requirements:

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2012 or later for 2D modeling.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other Microsoft Office tools (PowerBI, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or Controls Engineering, or equivalent engineering experience of 3+ years.
  • Experience coordinating equipment installations with multiple contractors.
  • Enthusiasm for a hands-on manufacturing environment, with skills in data gathering, process analysis, and support for new model and automation project activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or technical environment in an engineering role.
  • 1+ year of experience working with Toyota or a Toyota supplier.
  • Experience with automotive paint processes (OEM).
  • Some experience with 3D modeling software (Catia, XVL, Solidworks, or Inventor).
  • Project management experience in an engineering role.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support the Paint PE Engineering Manager in coordinating and planning equipment and process installations.
  • Develop work scope documents, lead bid meetings, and oversee equipment commissioning and quality confirmation planning.
