Tri-City Meals on Wheels is a non-profit organization located at 716 Foster Street Greensburg, PA 15601 that has been serving those in need for over fifty (50) years. We are looking for a candidate with the ability to train and direct kitchen volunteers in the meal preparation five (5) days a week Monday - Friday 6:30 AM - 12:30 PM preparing a different hot and nutritious meal daily to serve approx 180 clients. Candidate will also prepare a monthly menu with no reoccurring meals, place food and supply orders with vendors and the ability to work with and direct a staff composed of volunteers. Knowledge of computers (word, excel and QuickBooks) New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas we are closed. Vacation time is offered after one (1) year of service. We offer no health benefits.

Must have to following:

  • Good communications skills
  • Knowledge of food service,
  • Preparing large quantity meals
  • Experience in ordering products and foods needed to prepare meals daily
  • Manage products and inventory by not over-stocking
  • Ability to prepare monthly menus with no repeats
  • Work within the budget given
  • Ability to train and direct kitchen volunteers in the meal preparation
  • Willingness to recruit new volunteers and clients
  • Work with clergy and churches in the area
  • Excellent record keeping skills
  • Keep files up to date
  • Keep kitchen, cooler and freezer in order.

  • Ability to work with vendors to reduce costs

Summary

As a Kitchen Coordinator, you will be a vital part of our team, utilizing core skills in food preparation, management, and customer service to oversee kitchen operations efficiently. Your premium skills in food production and cooking will ensure high-quality meal preparation and service. With relevant experience in banquet services, catering, and barista work, you will contribute to creating a diverse and appealing menu. Proficiency in QuickBooks and computer skills will aid in inventory management and organization. Join us in maintaining a well-run kitchen and delivering exceptional food service to our customers.
