Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fiber Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, testing, and maintenance of fiber optic cables and equipment, ensuring the delivery of high-quality network services. This role requires a strong background in mechanical and electrical knowledge, as well as the ability to work collaboratively and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, test, and maintain fiber optic cables and associated equipment.
  • Perform fiber optic splicing and termination, including work with ribbon and loose tube fibers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair network issues to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Conduct efficient cable routing and management practices.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and splice schematics.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
  • Be available for on-call duties to address network outages and emergencies.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated mechanical knowledge for handling and installing fiber optic cables.
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems, particularly low voltage applications.
  • Familiarity with fiber optic splicing and termination techniques.
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to effectively troubleshoot network issues.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and clients.
  • Prior experience of at least one year as a Fiber Technician or in a related field is preferred, though training will be provided for qualified candidates.
