Seminole County Victims’ Rights Coalition, located in Seminole County, FL, is actively seeking full-time Victim Advocates to provide advocacy, support, crisis intervention, safety planning, and lethality assessments to survivors of domestic violence.

Victim Advocates support the personal growth and emotional healing of victims through advocacy and emotional support, connection to resources like counseling, housing assistance, childcare, transportation, crisis intervention and safety planning. Assess lethality, makes recommendations for the prevention of further harm, assists with criminal justice support, referral assistance, and advocacy to victims at any stage of the criminal justice process.

Education/ Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work or related field.
    • Related fields-Education Health Science, Human Development, Human Sciences, Human Services, Political Science, Public Administration, Psychology, Social Policy, Sociology
  • Working knowledge of domestic violence and empowerment-based advocacy.
  • Experience working with victims of crime preferred.
  • Proven ability to handle crisis situations.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Must be self-motivated, ability to multi-task, work in an organized manner, have excellent written, verbal skills and reporting skills.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license, liability insurance meeting minimum state requirements, and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Candidates considered are subject to criminal background check.
