Shift: Days, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 for candidates with 3+ years of experience
Job Description:
Patient Population:
The position serves a diverse patient population, including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and newborn patients. This also encompasses services for facility staff, physicians, visitors, vendors, and the general public.
Position Summary:
The Radiologic Technologist Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the radiology department under the guidance of the Administrative Director of Imaging/Physical Therapy and the Radiology Manager. The role includes providing input on the performance of technologists, ensuring high standards of care, and assisting in the overall operational flow. The Lead Technologist will be knowledgeable in patient care, safety, and comfort, while also ensuring quality imaging procedures using radiographic equipment and accessories. This position requires collaboration with other medical staff and supervisory skills to ensure optimal patient care.
In addition to overseeing the Radiologic Technologists, the Lead will maintain an environment of teamwork, mentor staff, and stay informed on advancements in imaging procedures, equipment, and safety regulations. The Lead will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with governing regulations and may be assigned to work in additional imaging modalities (e.g., CT, MRI, Ultrasound) based on training.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise and schedule technologists and ancillary personnel, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency in the radiology department.
- Provide guidance and support to technologists on imaging techniques, positioning, and equipment usage.
- Handle administrative duties related to staffing, scheduling, and equipment procurement, ensuring smooth department operations.
- Coordinate and monitor service maintenance of radiographic equipment and ensure regular preventive measures are taken.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to daily operations and staff performance.
- Stay current on developments in radiology practices and equipment, evaluating their relevance to departmental operations and recommending improvements.
- Serve as a resource for technologists by assisting with difficult cases and complex procedures.
- Train new employees and ensure effective use of the Radiology Information System (RIS) and other technologies.
- Respond to on-call requirements, handling after-hours and weekend responsibilities as necessary.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Work in other imaging modalities (e.g., CT, MRI, Ultrasound) as trained, with on-call responsibilities across two modalities.
- Participate in emergency and community disaster responses as required.
- Report any perceived misconduct, policy violations, or safety concerns in accordance with company procedures.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Associate's degree in Health Science
- At least 1 year of experience in Radiography, with supervisory experience
- Experience in teaching or on-the-job training of technologists or students is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedure manuals, and guidelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Familiarity with computer applications in business and radiology.
Licensure/Certifications:
- Current licensure as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist in California with Fluoroscopy Permit.
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required or must be obtained during orientation.
- IV certification preferred.
