What does a Financial Services Technician - Payee do?

The Full-Time Financial Services Technician - Payee at the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board plays a pivotal role in our agency's revenue-producing system. This position demands accuracy and efficiency in the entry and accounting of services rendered to clients, directly affecting the completeness of client accounts. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of service data submitted and posted to accounts, clarifying treatment rendered, and assigning appropriate charges. Your timely work will provide crucial information for financial records and reports, guiding top management and the Board of Directors in vital policy decisions impacting the agency's future.

Mastery of bookkeeping principles, cash handling skills, and knowledge of third-party insurers, including Medicaid and Medicare, is essential. You will communicate effectively with clients regarding their accounts while maintaining strong collaborative relationships with team members. What you need to be successful

To excel as a Full-Time Financial Services Technician - Payee at the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, candidates must possess a solid foundation in accounting and bookkeeping principles. A high school diploma is required, along with at least one year of experience in an automated computer-based system. Ideally, candidates should have some exposure to a public behavioral health care environment to understand the unique financial requirements involved.
