As Resident Assistant, you will be responsible for providing hands on care, physical and emotional support to each resident while maintaining a safe and comfortable home like environment.

General day to day responsibilities will include…
  • Being responsible for a designated group of residents during the shift; knowing where their residents are and physically checking on them throughout the shift.
  • Observing reports and documenting symptoms and conditions of residents for change in condition such as skin, behavior, alertness, weight, dietary and participation in activities.
  • Responding to security system and resident's call bells promptly.
  • Notifying the supervisor and/or Health Care Coordinator if a resident has increased care needs.
  • Assisting with continence management and disposing of all continence products properly to ensure sanitation of resident suite and community restrooms.
  • Serving and collecting food trays and assisting as needed, reports refusal of meals or loss of appetite.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of resident's room and work areas.
  • Practicing good standard care precautions of cleanliness, hygiene, and health.
  • Helping residents maintain independence promotes dignity and physical safety of each resident.
  • Actively participating/leading and assisting residents with activities of daily living (i.e. bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, ambulation, transferring, eating) as instructed.
  • Engaging residents in life skills and other life enrichment activities.
  • Greeting and assisting all internal and external customers, guests, family members, residents, vendors and team members.
  • Resident Assistant is also required to gather residents and implement activities.
  • Doing resident's laundry as assigned and needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
The right candidate should be a professional who enjoys working with the senior population. They will
demonstrate maintaining good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills. This position requires interactions with guests, residents and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.

While we support continued learning and enrichment, and celebrate a culture that encourages learning new skills, there are base level requirements for this position that include but are not limited to:
  • Certified Nurse's Aide certification preferred.
  • High School diploma/GED
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
