Job Duties

  • Conduct on-site quality inspections covering mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil work.
  • Review construction documents (plans, specifications, shop drawings) for accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform visual inspections, measurements, and testing to verify workmanship and adherence to standards.
  • Execute commissioning testing per industry standards, project plans, and client specifications.
  • Assess and provide input on QA/QC and Commissioning documentation, including Project Quality Plans, Quality Control Procedures, and Commissioning Plans.
  • Identify, document, and report non-conformance issues, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Inspect and test materials and equipment to ensure they meet project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Generate detailed inspection and commissioning reports, outlining findings and corrective measures.
  • Contribute to process improvements in QA/QC and commissioning procedures.
  • Stay informed on industry best practices, NEC, OSHA regulations, and local jurisdiction requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring alignment with quality standards.
  • Maintain organized documentation for inspections, non-conformance reports, and quality control records.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Preferred:
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
  • Required:
    • 6+ years of QA/QC and commissioning experience in solar construction.
  • Licenses & Certifications:
    • Journeyman Electrician (preferred in CA, NV, AZ, TX); Master Electrician & NABCEP certification preferred.
    • OSHA 30 (Construction) and NFPA 70E certifications required.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), Uniform Building Code (UBC), OSHA regulations, and utility jurisdiction requirements.
    • Experience interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
    • Proficiency with inspection tools, testing equipment, and reporting software.
    • Familiarity with SolarEdge, PanelClaw, and common PV systems.
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
    • Excellent communication for engaging with contractors, engineers, and management.
    • Advanced computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Procore, SharePoint preferred).
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid Driver's License & clean driving record.
    • Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.
    • 100% travel required.
