Position Summary:
The Night Audit is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel's front desk during the overnight shift. This includes handling guest inquiries, processing transactions, maintaining the security and safety of the hotel, preparing and distributing nightly reports, gathering and submitting transactional and operational reports.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Answer telephones, emails, and text messages in a timely manner, following the appropriate protocol and verbiage.
- Manage front desk operations, including check-ins, check-outs, walk-in reservations, house car coordination, posting charges to guest folios, and other related tasks.
- Process transactions, including room charges, sales, and other revenue streams.
- Respond to guest inquiries, resolve issues, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Have a working knowledge of emergency procedures.
- Perform the nightly reset of the PMS (Visual One).
- Collect and categorize all departments' closing paperwork before submitting it to the accounting department.
- Communicate effectively with guests, colleagues, and management to ensure seamless operations.
- In conjunction with the overnight security team, respond to emergencies, such as fires, medical emergencies, or power outages, and take appropriate action to ensure guest and employee safety.
- Properly take in-room dining orders.
- Perform wake-up calls when requested by guests.
- Assist guests with retail sales and potential questions around the produce sold at the boutique.
Personal Characteristics:
The ideal candidate will have strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to work accurately and efficiently in an environment with partial supervision and have some familiarity with Microsoft Office and hotel software platforms.
Education and/or experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a hotel front desk, night auditing or a customer service role is preferred but not required.
- High School Graduate
Special Skills/Abilities Required:
- Good organizational and communication skills, willingness to work nights.
- Good working knowledge of English, both written and verbal.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Basic math
- Able to think logically, problem solver, work along with little or no supervision.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Must be able to stay awake through the night shift.
- Must be able to spend long periods working on computers, with frequent typing and data entry.
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods, up to 8 hours.

- Overnight position at front desk. Office space with computer for work use.
- Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Work in a front desk environment, with frequent interruptions and distractions.
