Mexico Joe's is looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Kitchen Manager to lead our back-of-house operations If you have a passion for great food, strong leadership skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want you on our team.

As Kitchen Manager, you'll oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring top-quality food preparation, maintaining health and safety standards, managing facilities, and leading a high-performing team. You'll be hands-on in both management and kitchen shifts, setting the standard for excellence and teamwork.

Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead, develop, and inspire the kitchen team.
  • Manage hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee onboarding and training for new kitchen staff.
  • Monitor and maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation.
  • Control labor and food costs while managing inventory and supply orders.
  • Ensure compliance with health department regulations and food safety standards.
  • Maintain and coordinate kitchen equipment repairs.
  • Implement and uphold cleaning schedules and sanitation protocols.
  • Assist in managing BOHA, our back-of-house software system.
  • Develop and execute creative food features.
  • Participate in management meetings and contribute to company goals.
  • Work a mix of scheduled lunch and dinner line shifts.
  • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive work environment.
Job Requirements:
  • 3+ years of professional line cook experience.
  • 1+ years in a kitchen management or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and health codes.
  • Exceptional leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to control costs and optimize kitchen operations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexible availability.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must possess ServSafe certification within 6 months of obtaining the position. 
  • Ability to stand and walk for 8+ hours and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
