Summary

The Curriculum Specialist/Instructional Leader has coaching, mentoring, and modeling responsibilities assigned for support of curriculum implementation in our educational program. Time is delegated to observe and monitor infant, toddler/preschool classrooms; work with Staff, Education Consultants, Assistant Director and Executive Director; and pursue training to support all educational program components. This role acts as a resource for establishing relationships with families using knowledge of WLCDC policies and procedures. This position provides welcoming customer service to all children, parents, guests and fellow employees.

Duties

Essential Functions:
§Monitor, mentor and support instruction in classrooms that models best practice.
§Act as a liaison between Executive Director/Assistant Director, Education Consultants, teaching teams and families in classes.
§Maintain a schedule of meetings with teaching teams to provide support with lesson planning, educational environment and optimum curriculum implementation, e.g., study groups.
§Assist in ordering of supplies, field trips and special events.
§Assist in referrals for services to children and families.
§With the assistance of Education Consultants, advise and provide resource for performance change/improvement, enrichment activities, and family involvement.
§Communicate with Asst/Executive Director as to status of educational program and staff performance.
§Participate in on-going professional development in curriculum implementation.
§Comply with all licensing regulations, NAEYC accreditation and WLCDC policies and procedures.
§Provide direct support and coaching through scheduled observation time in classroom and meetings with Lead Teacher, Assistant Teachers and Teacher Aides.
§Assist with reviews and evaluations of learning experience planning.
§Advise on and assures maintenance of orderly, attractive and healthful classrooms.
§Participate in action planning/goal identification for continual program improvement and individual professional development.
§Keep written records of work that includes observation notes, goals and follow up.
§Create Individual Action Plans for professional growth and development.
§Assist in planning, coordination and supervision of program events.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
§bachelor's degree in education, early childhood education, or other appropriate discipline is required.
§Four or more years of experience as a Lead Teacher is required. Four or more years of curriculum experience is required.
§Demonstrated ability to implement curriculum in accordance with program quality standards.
§Ability to mentor and to model best practices that achieve school readiness outcomes.
§Familiarity with accreditation and other regulatory agencies, (i.e., HSR, SDE, DCF, DPH) is required.
§Organizational and time management aptitude and application.
§Ability to document and communicate through written and oral report is required.
§Extensive knowledge of Creative Curriculum, CTELDS, DOTS and the Cycle of Intentional Teaching
§Early Learning and Development Standards, related child developments milestones/expectations/assessments.
§Commitment to ongoing professional development and to our program.
§Enthusiasm for problem solving and teamwork
§Flexibility and resourcefulness, routinely and under pressure
§Demonstrated attention to detail is required.
§Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
§Work knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.

Women's League Child Development Center, Hartford

Join a staff of professional Early Childhood Educators at the NAEYC-accredited Women's League Child Development Center. We have provided a high-quality program to Hartford's children and families for 104 years. Our beautiful facility in Hartford's Clay Arsenal neighborhood has 8 School Readiness Preschool classrooms, 8 Toddler Rooms and 1 Infant Room.

Women's League is currently looking for 3 Lead Teachers and 5 Assistant Teachers.

Lead Teachers-Preschool/Toddler:

Full-time positions, 35+hours per week, with generous benefits. Lead a teaching team, guide assistant teachers with observations, assessments, curriculum planning, building strong relationships with children and families. Requirements: Associate Degree in ECE, OR 30 ECE credits+ 2 years teaching experience.Familiarity with CTELDS and DOTS is a plus. Salary is commensurate with educational level and experience.


Part time positions, 15-20 hours per week. Be part of a classroom teaching team, assist teachers in preparing classroom materials, support children with transitions and build everlasting relationships with children.

Requirements- 18 years old Highschool Diploma/GED or some ECE credits. Experience working with children, kind, reliable and punctual willing to work in a team.
