Job Summary:

We seek four Part-Time U.S. Army Reserve Command (USARC) Education Service Advisors to provide education support services for the Army Continuing Education System (ACES). The selected candidate will advise service members on education benefits, career development, and lifelong learning opportunities. This position requires travel to various U.S. Army Reserve Education Centers nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:

The USARC Education Service Advisor provides academic counseling and career guidance to service members, assisting with Tuition Assistance (TA), Credentialing Assistance (CA), GI Bill programs, and Student Loan Repayment (SLRP). The role includes supporting soldiers transitioning to civilian life by explaining Veteran's Education Benefits and other opportunities.

Advisors guide soldiers through ArmyIgnitED 2.0, assisting with enrollment, degree planning, and benefits training. They review education records and transcripts, approve degree plans per Army regulations, and maintain accurate records of all services provided. The position involves delivering briefings and training on military education programs to soldiers and unit administrators while coordinating with academic institutions for invoicing, grading, and student agreements.

Ensuring compliance with Army and DoD education policies, the advisor must respond to inquiries within three business days, providing timely support and follow-ups. This role requires a strong understanding of military education benefits and a commitment to helping soldiers achieve their academic and career goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must meet one of the following educational and experience requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution plus at least two (2) years of experience in education advisory or counseling.
  • Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution plus at least five (5) years of experience in education advisory or counseling.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current or former U.S. Army Reserve soldiers and military veterans are strongly encouraged to apply. Ideal candidates will have experience with the Army Continuing Education System (ACES) or other military education programs and proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Effective communication, organizational skills, and familiarity with ArmyIgnitED 2.0 and other military education platforms are essential.

Additional Requirements:

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, able to travel as needed, and capable of obtaining and maintaining a Tier 3 background check.
