GlobalSTL, an initiative of BioSTL, is seeking a high potential candidate for the Senior Manager, Strategy and Operations role. This role will be a change agent, whose primary responsibility is to bridge the gap between strategic planning and day-to-day operations by analyzing data, developing actionable plans, and ensuring the successful execution of new strategies across different departments, often involving process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives; essentially, this role will translate high-level strategies into tangible actions and monitor their implementation to achieve the execution of GlobalSTL's strategic plan. This position will report to the GlobalSTL Lead and will be a full-time, salaried position with BioSTL.

Job Responsibility
GlobalSTL operates the premier business development platform for incumbent organizations looking to convert innovation to value in the healthcare, agriculture, and food industries. The team has experienced a strong period of growth creating outcomes by facilitating partnerships between buyers of innovation and high-growth innovators from around the globe. This vital role will have an immediate impact on our productivity by working across the GlobalSTL Team to help build visibility and alignment around measurable outcomes, monitor and refine processes that execute our strategy, and create visibility to individual goals and responsibilities. They will be responsible for standardizing and scaling GlobalSTL operations through continuous process improvement, implementing strategic initiatives, and ensuring effective collaboration.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
As a member of the GlobalSTL team, the Senior Manager, Strategy and Operations, will actively participate in the following responsibilities:
  • Performance Monitoring: Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of implemented strategies and adjust as needed. Dashboarding and monitoring of operational performance and identifying areas for improvement. Identifying knowledge and skills gaps and work to address them.
  • Process Improvement: Leveraging GlobalSTL systems, identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies in existing operations, designing and implementing new processes to streamline workflows and optimize productivity. Drive a team culture that emphasizes utilization of data, process innovation, GlobalSTL product alignment, customer voice, and progress toward team and individual goals. Document process best practice, as identified.
  • Strategic Analysis: Performing data analysis to identify key areas for improvement, evaluate potential risks and opportunities, and inform strategic decision-making and multi-year strategic planning. Conducting cost-benefit analysis to evaluate potential projects. Facilitating workshops to gather feedback and align teams on new strategies.
  • Project Management: Develop detailed implementation plans for new strategic initiatives. Leading cross-functional teams to execute strategic initiatives, setting timelines, managing deliverables, and tracking progress against goals. Identifying and mitigating risks associated with implementation.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborating with different departments and leadership levels to align on strategic priorities, communicate plans, and address concerns. Organize and coordinate high quality interactions with staff, managers, senior leadership, and CEO regarding strategy, goals, KPIs, project updates, proposals, planning, and company climate. Creating presentations and reports to communicate findings to leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to assigning tasks to team members, directly overseeing the work of others, helping to execute business development opportunities, partnership programs, innovation sourcing, data entry, data analysis, and general administrative tasks to help maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records.

Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in business administration or similar field
  • Exposure to CRMs, database systems, data analysis and budget management tools
  • Nimble business mind, focused on developing creative solutions
  • Consulting experience, with a focus on operations management and change management
  • Proven success in a project coordination role
  • Strong project reporting and project management skills, with focus on interdepartmental communications
  • Experience in planning and leading strategic initiatives
