Position Summary
- The Residential Program Coordinator, IRA is responsible for ensuring that each person residing at an Opengate Individualized Residential Alternative (IRA) is able to live life to the fullest, with quality person-centered care and services appropriate to their needs.
- The Residential Program Coordinator, IRA oversees the day-to-day operations of IRA programs, including supervision of employees assigned to residential services and the managers they report to. Inspiring a positive, collaborative and inclusive team environment, the Residential Program Coordinator, IRA provides leadership through example that encourages management to emulate positivity, provide supportive leadership for staff, as well as foster self-advocacy and nurture natural supports for residents. This role plays an integral part in developing and maintaining the highest regulatory and quality standards that ensure the people who reside at Opengate achieve their full potential and experience the highest quality of life.
Essential Job Functions
- Ensure that people residing at Opengate's IRA programs receive appropriate care, qualitative programming, adequate clothing and ADL supplies and adequate health and medical attention, as necessary.
- Participate in the hiring, development, evaluation and disciplinary process for all employees assigned to Opengate's IRAs.
- Provide for the supervision and training of employees assigned.
- Ensure that supervisors assigned to the IRA programs are knowledgeable in compliance requirements, health & safety issues, and building codes.
- Monitor and adhere to established budget guidelines.
- Ensure that residential furnishings and vehicles are maintained and that maintenance needs are reported and followed up on.
- Performs administrative oversight of resident income and banking to ensure that funds belonging to the people receiving support are maintained and used appropriately, according to approved guidelines and standards.
- Interact with professional staff to coordinate services provided to people receiving support.
- Interact with the families and advocates of people receiving support on matters pertaining to the services provided.
- Attend and participate in assigned meetings as required.
- Develop community partnerships that foster substantive opportunities that enhance quality of life for residents.
- Adhere to and ensure conformity with federal, state and local governmental regulatory guidelines pertaining to a safe, healthy and clean work environment, reporting health and safety concerns to the Quality Improvement Coordinator.
- Participates in development of plans of corrective action.
- Responsible for ensuring operational continuity, including providing acting coverage for absences and vacancies.
- Provide support across all shifts, ensuring onsite presence outside of 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday business hours, on a periodic schedule.
- Participates in the Administrator-On-Call rotation.
- Coordinates the IRA Manager-On-Call rotation.
- Accessible 24/7 for support and crisis intervention.
- Reports any issues, concerns or significant observations to the Director of Residential Operations or Chief Operations Officer.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in the field of Human Services.
- Five or more years of experience managing a team, preferably in the I/DD field.
- Minimum experience of 5 years working with I/DD population.
- Strong knowledge of OPWDD regulation, preferred.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have good interpersonal and writing skills.
- Working knowledge of EHR and LMS systems preferred
- Must have computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Physical Requirements
- This position is a non-sedentary role; requires a lot of time standing and walking.
- Able to lift 50 or more pounds. The ability to turn, lift and assist people receiving services with movement.
