Job Description Job Description

The Registered Nurse delivers quality nursing care throughthe utilization of the nursing process. Works collaboratively with othermembers of the healthcare team to maintain standards for professional nursingpractice. Carries out functions according to hospital policy, the hospitalmission, and standards of practice defined by professional and regulatoryguidelines. Directs, coordinates and delegates activities in order to fosterpatient / family centered care.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Assesses the physical, psychosocial, and educational needs of the patient.
  2. Plans and implements nursing care according to patient and family needs.
  3. Makes appropriate interventions based upon individual patient needs.
  4. Evaluates patient responses to nursing interventions.
  5. Assumes personal responsibility for quality patient care, patient satisfaction, environment and professional development.
