We are seeking a full-time Cook 2 – Pastry (Nobu - Manalapan) to join our team at Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa. As a key member of our team, you will play an essential role in providing exceptional service to our guests, upholding the standards of our Forbes Five-Star resort.

Job Description:

The Pastry Cook's responsibilities include preparing quality pastry items such as desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, creams, sake-infused drinks, petite fours, and syrups including complete production and plating service.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely.
  • Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and hotel requirements.
  • Complete Opening Duties:
  • Inspect the cleanliness and working conditions of all tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Check production schedule and par and establish priority items for the day.
  • Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides, according to Nobu standards.
  • Maintain proper storage procedures as specified by the Health Department and hotel requirements.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 1-3 year's experience as a Pastry Cook/Baker in a luxury hotel or restaurant.
  • Food handling certificate.
  • Ability to communicate in English with guests, co-workers, and management to their understanding.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and follow through.
  • Ability to be a clear thinker, remain calm, and resolve problems using good judgment.
  • Ability to work well under the pressure of meeting production schedules and timelines for guests' food orders.
  • Ability to transport cases of received goods to the workstation; pots and pans of food from storage/prep areas to the serving line.
  • Ability to work long hours in hot, noisy, and sometimes close conditions.
  • Ability to use all senses to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Ability to operate, clean, and maintain all equipment required in job functions.
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
