SCHHC has a full-time opening in the Surgical Services Department for a Circulating Surgical Nurse (RN). A Circulating Surgical RN is responsible for assessing the health status of the patient to develop an individualized, age-specific plan of care by collecting, categorizing, and interpreting data from documented information, observation, patient/family interviews, and other healthcare team members. The RN is responsible for the perioperative nursing care of all assigned patients and assigned additional duties in Pre-Op, OR Suite, PACU, Endoscopy, and Central Sterilization to maintain the department in a state of readiness at all times. The RN assists Anesthesia during induction, prior to prepping the patient for the surgical procedure. The RN communicates with Surgical Technologists, and other members of the Surgical Team to maintain a continuity of care for patients undergoing invasive and non-invasive procedures. Supervision of the patient immediately post-operatively in a post-anesthesia care unit. The Nurse reports to the Surgical Services Manager.

Skills, Knowledge, & Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Currently licensed as an RN in the state of Oregon.
  • Have and maintain Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
  • One year of surgical circulating experience is required.
  • One year of acute care nursing experience / previous peri anesthesia for that role is required.
  • Proficiency in EKG rhythm identification required within 6 months of hire.
  • CPAN or CAPA is preferred.
  • Previous scrub experience is preferred
  • CNOR is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a drive to provide exceptional service.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, and computer proficiency specifically in Microsoft Office and online software.

This is a Full-Time onsite position that is eligible for benefits. * SCHHC pays the full employee-only amount for Health, Dental, Vision, and Basic Life & AD&D insurance. *
