Veterans Cleaning Group (VCG) is seeking professionally trained and experienced Health Care Environmental Services (EVS) Supervisors to help lead our team on-site in support of the Northport Veterans Administration Medical Center, Northport, NY.
Our EVS supervisors play a key role in providing the highest quality of patient care through a clean and safe environment. Their personal leadership and devoted service makes a big difference in the lives of Veterans, their families, visitors, and the hospital staff.
Our goal is for every EVS teammate to be trained on the highest standards of professional cleaning standards and techniques.
Our EVS Supervisors will lead teammates in the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Services Department. In accordance with Government EMS Director's guidance, our supervisor will train, coach and evaluate, and direct EVS Technicians. The supervisor will ensure patients, family members, and visitors have a safe and clean environment by providing the highest possible level of service. The supervisor must possess excellent communication skills including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all team members.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Assists the EMS Director in annual reviews of standards and work procedures for all housekeeping staff and safety programs.
Participate in regular staff planning meetings and communicate with members of other departments to coordinate housekeeping activities.
Plans work and staffing schedules and areas of work to ensure adequate services are rendered.
Assists in the hiring new associates.
Provides staff education and continuous training.
Track and manage daily cleaning services through computer and tablet applications.
Conducts regular inspections, attends weekly Environment of Care rounds and make recommendations as needed.
Ensures patient rooms, bathrooms, beds, IV poles, furniture are cleaned per EVS standards.
Ensures staff completes all detail work including high dusting, low dusting, cleaning corners, edges, hopper closets, external vents, window blinds, soap dispensers, outside of trash cans.
Ensures proper handling and disposal of regular trash and of medical / Chemo Waste, soiled linens and uses proper PPE.
Ensures outside of facility is maintained in a safe, clean, and attractive manner.
Counsels staff members when necessary, according to company personnel guidelines.
Conducts regular inventory of housekeeping supplies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Professional Cleaning training
Associates degree desired.
3 - 5 years of supervisory or managerial EVS experience in a health care environment are required.
Compassionate, servant leader with empathy for patients, families, visitors, and other staff members.
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 software products and the use of tablet computers.
Working Conditions: Government hospital site
Required Travel: Minimal
Job Type: Full-Time, Non-exempt
Contract Length: More than 1 year
