Job Description Job Description Job Title: Field Service Technician Location: Waukesha, WI Summary: The Field Service Technician performs and coordinates installations, troubleshooting of machinery related to the following, but not limited to: Graphic Arts, Bindery, Finishing, and Packaging equipment. Training on machinery is provided during first 90 days.
Responsibilities:
  1. Field Service Technicians travel to customer sites, plan and perform a wide range of duties to install, demonstrate and instruct customer's employees in the operation of machinery at the customer's plant.
  2. Set up and operate machinery to produce customer's product; instruct operators in set-up and operating procedures; provide technical and practical answers to customer's questions or problems
  3. Work from mechanical assembly drawings, machine manuals, technical procedures and specifications to assist with or install new machines and upgrade as required; responsible for installations of various sections and complete machines and adjustments as necessary to ensure proper operation
  4. Perform routine and/or emergency breakdown mechanical/electrical service on company equipment; determine root cause of trouble; prepare report of findings and solutions to problem
  5. Assist installation coordinator with pre/post installation meetings and audits at customer facility and assessing manpower needs
  6. Report quality issues and take corrective action to prevent reoccurrence
  7. Liaison between customer and company; maintain positive relationships with customers
  8. Create service reports at customer facilities
  9. Be able to work in a team environment and also independently
  10. Can sit, stand, twist, bend and lift up to 60 lbs when needed
  11. Ideal candidate will travel 30+ weeks a year, but applicants with an expectation of at least 20 weeks a year will be considered
Qualifications:
  1. Valid drivers license
  2. Has 5+ years' experience operating or 2+ years of direct maintenance experience related to the following types of machinery: Die Cutters, Foil Stampers, Folder Gluers, Window Patching Machines, Tray Formers, Paper Cutters, Cutters, Pile Turners, Film Laminators and/or other converting/web related machinery.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  4. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  5. Ability to work independently and/or with a team to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  6. Communicates effectively: conveys facts and information clearly both verbally and orally.
  7. Collaborates well with others: proactively contributes to group objectives; volunteers to help others.
