The Child Development Services provided are: Infant / Toddler Program, Preschool full-day and half-day programs, and a nutritious Food Program.

TEACHER - JOB SUMMARY

The Teacher is responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate program in accordance with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures. The Teacher implements the curriculum, works with parents, and assesses the needs of individual children. The Teacher reports to the Site Supervisor daily and Program Director indirectly, as needed.

This is an on-call, as needed position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Current and valid Associate Teacher Permit or higher.

High School Diploma or Equivalent

12 units of Early Childhood Education: 3 units in Child Development or Human Development, 3 units in Child, Family and Community or Child, Family Relations and 6 Units in ECE Curriculum,

Infant/Toddler teacher: 3 additional units in Infant Care and/or Toddler Development with PITC knowledge and experience.

A minimum of one year of experience working with children ages 6 months through 5 years.

Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS

Proof of health and immunization clearance - MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella), Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis, TB (Tuberculosis) and Flu (Influenza) shot or a waiver of the flu shot.

Livescan Background and Child Abuse Index Check Professional reference and employment history checks. Pediatric CPR/First Aid

Trainings: Pesticide Management, Child Abuse Mandated Reporter, ServSafe (required for staff serving meals).

Must speak English and be able to teach the English language.Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth and perception, and the ability to adjust and focus. Direct visual supervision of staff, volunteers, and children required.Employees go outside daily, if weather permits. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be noisy and chaotic. Noise levels may change intermittently.
