Houston Anodizing & Metal Finishing is seeking a Metal Finishing Shop Helper to support daily production needs in our metal finishing operation.
Position SummaryThe Metal Finishing Shop Helper assists with hands-on tasks that support the efficient and safe completion of metal finishing work. This role is essential to maintaining workflow in the shop by helping prepare materials, support finishing operations, and ensure areas remain organized and ready for production.
You will work alongside experienced team members to follow established procedures, meet quality expectations, and keep safety at the forefront of daily operations in a busy, hands-on environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with material handling and preparation to support production schedules
Help set up and support shop processes under direction from supervisors and skilled team members
Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas, including proper storage of materials and supplies
Follow safety procedures and production guidelines to support a safe working environment
Support quality checks by ensuring materials are handled correctly and work areas are prepared for incoming and outgoing jobs
Ability to perform physical work in a shop environment, including standing for extended periods and lifting as needed
Willingness to follow safety procedures and work instructions consistently
Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with shop tasks and materials
Reliability and punctuality with a strong willingness to learn and support the team
Clear communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively in a team setting
Prior experience in a metal finishing, manufacturing, or industrial production environment
Familiarity with shop safety practices and common production workflow
Experience with basic quality awareness and careful attention to detail
Ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures in a production setting
