DutiesYou will be responsible for managing programs consisting of a staff of approximately 150 administrative civil service and contracted professionals, geographically dispersed throughout the country.You will be responsible for managing Labor/Employee Relations, Personnel Security, Suitability and workplace Alternative Dispute Resolution for the DON/USMC activities stateside and overseas.You will be responsible directly and through subordinate supervisors for organizing, planning and directing the operations of the department.You will be responsible for local or DON wide policy development and evaluation of proposed policy and operational changes for programs assigned.You will be responsible for coordinating interrelated activities and to resolve operational problems that cross functional lines.You will be responsible for exercising personnel management responsibilities through multiple subordinate Division Heads.You will be responsible for planning and assigning work, set priorities, advise employees on program goals and objectives and makes decision on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors.You will be responsible for briefing higher ranking officials on workforce relations to both reiterate program policies and processes and implementing new and sometimes controversial policies designed to improve service delivery.Requirements Conditions of EmploymentMust be a US Citizen.Must be determined suitable for federal employment.Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector executing, directing, or managing the delivery of civilian federal human resources (HR) services involving one or more of the following functions: labor relations, employee relations, alternate dispute resolution, Suitability and Operations Personnel Security.
