Role Overview: As the Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations and driving strategic initiatives for our client. This is a hands-on position where you will have the opportunity to lead a talented finance team and contribute to the company's continued success.
Key Responsibilities of the Controller:
- Manage all aspects of financial statements and reporting, including budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- Applies accounting standards and principles (GAAP) to ensure proper entry of figures, covering transactions
such as payroll, labor and overhead distribution. acquisition of assets, accounts payable/receivable,
depreciation, amortization, reserves, write-offs, accruals, project accounting, adjustments, and corrections. - Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to senior leadership.
- Work closely with CFO & VP of Finance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize business processes and drive efficiency.
- Manage, mentor and develop accounting/finance team members to support their professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA preferred
- 5-8+years progressive accounting experience
- Supervisory experience
- Manufacturing industry experience required
- Strong financial and accounting skills, including experience with audits, reporting, and financial analysis
- Proficiency in financial software programs such as Microsoft Excel and various ERPs
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
