We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) for a Locums Emergency Medicine position in Texas City, TX. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in emergency medicine and be able to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will provide emergency medical care to patients of all ages in a busy emergency department. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, diagnosing and treating various conditions, and managing emergency situations. You will also be responsible for ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as x-rays, labs, and EKGs, and performing procedures like suturing, splinting, and wound care. Collaboration with attending physicians and the healthcare team is essential to ensure comprehensive care for patients. Additionally, you will be required to document patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the EMR system. You will triage patients, stabilize those in critical condition, and determine appropriate levels of care while maintaining communication with staff and other departments.

Requirements:
  • Certified as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP)
  • Active Texas license
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required, PALS and ATLS preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting
  • Proficiency in performing emergency procedures
