**Job Title:** Respiratory Therapist
**Job Specialty:** Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** Nights, 12-hour shifts; three 12-hour nights with an occasional day shift as needed; 36 hours per week
**Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified
**Experience:** 5 years of current RRT experience in an acute care facility required; Prior travel experience preferred
**License:** State licensure required
**Certifications:** BLS (AHA) required; NRP, ACLS, PALS preferred; CPFT Certification preferred; Asthma Educator Certification preferred
**Must-Have:**
- High comfort level working with ventilators
- Experience with HHN, BiPAP, and CPAP
**Job Description:**
- Provide therapeutic and diagnostic cardiopulmonary services as directed
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of applicable physiology and pathology
- Ability to work independently and willingness to work in a team-oriented environment
- Effective communication skills required
- Rotate from the pulmonary clinic to respiratory therapy staff work, as predetermined by the Clinical Supervisor
- Participate in on-call duties as required
- Cross-train in EEG and sleep medicine as needed
- Familiarity with computer applications required, with a willingness to learn software applications used in the department
- Maintain a professional dress code: scrubs (any color), closed-toe shoes, no denim, no perfume or cologne
- Manage a typical therapist/patient ratio of 1:5 or 6, with responsibilities in the ED, inpatient care, and patient transport to tertiary care centers
- Follow department rotation and holiday requirements as needed
