**Certifications:** RDMS or CCI certification

**Must-Have:**
- High School Diploma/GED required; Associate's Degree preferred
- Graduate of an accredited cardiac ultrasound program preferred

**Job Description:**
- Receives physicians' orders for inpatients and outpatients
- Reviews electronic medical records for pertinent history
- Prepares patients for procedure, considering their physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs
- Follows proper procedure for transport of patients when applicable
- Provides patient care in a safe and compassionate manner
- Performs echocardiograms for pediatric and adult patients according to protocol
- Performs studies to ICAEL standards, department policy and procedure, and ACC/AHC standards
- Examines the heart from appropriate echo views assessing wall motion, valve function, chamber size, and any abnormalities
- Notifies cardiologist of any critical results
- Assists in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies
- Notifies biomed of all equipment malfunctions
- Notifies supervisor of equipment issues and malfunctions
- Ensures that all patient charges are accurately completed
- Confirms that there is a correct order for all studies done
- Assists with stress tests and EKGs if needed

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00-4:30. No weekends. Open on some holidays including Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve; closed on Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Presidents Day is open. Candidates will float between medical centers nearby and must be willing to comply with hospital facilities and procedures, including vaccination requirements.

Modules: Modules are non-billable, average 4-6 hours, and are completed during orientation and annually as per specialty. These are recorded through the designated learning portal. Orientation consists of 16 hours.
