**Job Title:** Registered Nurse
**Job Specialty:** Emergency Room
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** 12-Hour Evening/Night Shifts (3 PM - 3 AM); every other weekend
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years
**License:** Emergency license can be requested
**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, TNCC (PALS or ENPC recommended but not required)
**Must-Have:** General Emergency Department experience
**Job Description:**
- Work in a Level III Trauma Center with 21 Emergency Department beds and 1 Trauma Bay
- Manage 4:1 patient ratios
- Participate in triage using 2 triage rooms
- Handle ER holds intermixed within the ER
- Utilize 4 separate Psych/seclusion rooms and 2 convertible crisis rooms
- Collaborate with in-house security for safety
- Provide care for approximately 125 patients per day
- Utilize Meditech EMR for charting
- Perform EKGs with RNs and Techs
- Coordinate with respiratory therapists for ABGs and breathing treatments
- Available imaging staff for transporting patients for x-ray and CT
- Engage in phlebotomy or nurse draw duties, primarily by ED Techs and RNs
- Follow 24/7 ED Physician(s) and PA coverage; ED Charge RN and House Supervisor present
- No call or standby requirement
- Schedule according to contract requirements for holidays and every other weekend
- Attend orientation provided before the first shift
- Dress code allows any color scrubs except purple
**Notes:**
- Hospital may cancel up to 3 times per contract, which can be a full shift or part thereof.
