Staff Accountant


Position Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with solid accounting experience, particularly in accounts payable and receivable. As part of a small, dynamic accounting team, you'll contribute to day-to-day financial operations, help with system transitions, and support key departmental projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable:

    • Manage daily transactions, entering invoices for payment, and processing payment runs.
    • Handle customer payments, update accounts, and maintain records of aging reports.
    • Reconcile customer statements, vendor statements, prepaids, and accruals.

  • General Accounting Support:

    • Assist with journal entries and account reconciliations.
    • Collaborate with other departments and customers/vendors to ensure smooth financial operations.
    • Help transition to new systems, including exploring potential ERP solutions and changes to processes.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Education: BS or BA in Accounting (or related field)
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in accounting roles
  • Technical Skills:
    • Familiarity with Sage 100 or similar accounting software (ERP implementation experience a plus)
    • Comfortable using Excel for basic tasks (PT/VL functions)
  • Personality Traits:
    • Strong communicator, able to work in a small team
    • Ability to manage both routine tasks and ad-hoc projects
    • Detail-oriented with a strong understanding of accounting principles
