Nurse Practitioner or PA, Gastroenterology Procedure Unit

Providing patient triage/chart review to facilitate needed procedures and clinical supports for patients and families with medical needs ranging from acute to chronic. Conducting patient/family interviews and documenting patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status, and medical problems or potential problems. Working collaboratively with clinical anesthesia staff, GPU nursing and multiple referring BCH specialty providers. Communicating necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of anesthesia to patients and families The GPU is a procedural unit running 5 days a week for both ambulatory and inpatients. The GPU performs a wide range of non-sterile procedures: examples include; therapeutic and diagnostic endoscopic and colonoscopic procedures, PICC line placements, IUD placements, LPs, Sedated ABR testing, etc. *This position is to fill a temporary increase in patient volume in the GPU following procedure room closures in the Main OR. After this temporary closure, APRN responsibilities will be based in perioperative care with further details to be determined.
To qualify, you must have:
A Master of Science in Nursing and certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner or Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies. MA licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse of a Physician Assistant 3 years of RN/NP/PA acute (hospital) experience required. Perioperative experience preferred. Pediatric experience preferred. Excellent organizational, communication, and computer skills. *Sign-on bonus of $2,000.00 (who have not worked at BCH in the past 2 years).
