**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

**Job Specialty:** ICU RN

**Job Duration:** 13 Weeks

**Shift:** 12-Hour Nights - 3 shifts per week, every other weekend, first to float

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience preferred; previous travel experience is also preferred

**License:** Required for submission

**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (PALS and TNCC preferred)

**Must-Have Skills:** ICU experience, proficiency with drips, vents, and BiPAPs

**Job Description:**

- Complete a pass/fail open-book exam on skills learned during orientation with a minimum score of 90%.
- Work in a 16-bed Medical ICU with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1.
- Handle common diagnoses such as sepsis, respiratory failure, stroke, and myocardial infarction (MI).
- Titrate drips including vasopressors and sedation medications (e.g., levo, neo, cardene, precedex, propofol).
- Act as a Charge Nurse and take patient assignments as required.
- Collaborate with hospitalists 24/7; intensivists are in-house during daytime and available via telemedicine at night.
- Work with respiratory therapists who manage equipment adjustments; RNs troubleshoot only.
- Read and verify cardiac strips, though centralized monitor techs will assist.
- Utilize Draeger brand tele monitors.
- Follow a set schedule from 18:30 to 07:00, working every third weekend and an assigned holiday.
- Be open to floating to Progressive Care (PCU) if not required in ICU.
- Adhere to a navy-blue scrub dress code.
- Participate in one shift of ICU and one shift of PCU-specific orientation.
- Use the EPIC charting system.
- Fulfill radius and rule requirements to ensure eligibility.

Please note that requested time off must be submitted upfront and additional days will not be approved after submission. This position does not require on-call or standby duties and there is a policy allowing cancellation of up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract.
