Job Title: Technician II (Purification)
Location: Coralville, IA
Duration: 6 Months
Schedule: Wednesday to Friday, 7pm to 7:30am
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Technician II (Purification) to join our team, responsible for purifying custom oligonucleotides according to customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to safety regulations, lab SOPs, and contamination controls
  • Perform oligonucleotide purification using various techniques
  • Operate automated and manual lab equipment, including maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Conduct quality control tests, quantify, and sample oligos
  • Assess QC data, making pass/fail decisions
  • Ensure product meets final purity guarantees
  • Sort oligos for purification using software or manual methods
  • Utilize custom software packages for task completion and final product creation
  • Troubleshoot oligo failures, making informed sorting and purification decisions
Position-Specific Responsibilities:
  • Follow custom instructions from Oligo Master Records or Manager-Approved Process Flows
  • Perform hand coupling of modifications
  • Maintain thorough records of specialized processes in oligo process history
  • Organize and handle customer-owned materials and non-standard reagent formulations
  • Handle expensive oligos and reagents
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree (2 years) or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Bachelor's degree (4 years) in a science-related field preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and various PC software programs
  • Exert 20-50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 10-15 lbs. of force frequently
