Registered Nurse (RN) - Orthopaedics

Medina Hospital’s 4 South Orthopaedic Unit is a 27-bed unit that specializes in joint replacements, cares for patients with revisions of total joint replacements, lumbar and cervical decompressions, fusions and laminectomies, and has telemetry capabilities. 


A caregiver in this position works day/evening/night/weekend shifts from 7:00AM – 7:30PM or 7:00PM – 7:30AM.  


A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide direct nursing care. 

  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.  

  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.  

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments. 

  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  

  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. 

  • Educate patients and their families.   


Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.  

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).  

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). 

  • One-year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider military RN experience. 


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
