Job Description
  • Grind and blend defect areas on castings and blend welds to blueprint tolerances. Review x-ray/inspection paperwork, sketches, and blueprints to determine grinding requirements. Blend and rework repaired areas to specified tolerances.

Essential Skills
  • Comfortable working in a physical position.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing 30-50 lbs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous grinding, deburring, or buffing experience is ideal.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Experience in metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing.
  • Blueprint experience is a plus.
  • Willing to train on another shift if required.

Work Environment
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and fumes is possible. The work is performed in a grinding booth, which is an 8-foot ventilated room. Grinders are exposed to noise, dust, temperature extremes, and fatigue, especially in the forearms and hands. The day shift runs from Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, and the swing shift runs from Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM.

  • This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, Oregon.

The pay range for this position is $24.70 - $24.70
