shorten this job description and remove any company names SUMMARY: The Director of Global Supply Chain and Logistics is a senior leadership position that plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods within the organization. They oversee the end-to-end supply chain, from procurement to delivering finished products to customers. They play a critical role in shaping the company’s competitive advantage by streamlining processes, minimizing costs, and enhancing overall supply chain efficiency. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead, mentor and develop a global supply chain team with clear processes, structure, and operational standards that are cohesive across all internal teams. Champion the development of a collaborative strategy with stakeholders across the organization, aligning supply chain, procurement and logistics management with the company’s overarching objectives and direction. Logistics and Transportation: Oversee transportation logistics, including freight forwarding, shipping, and US distribution. Optimize transportation routes and modes to minimize costs and delivery times. Metric: Achieve an on-time delivery rate of 95% or higher. Lead sourcing and negotiating with Carriers Collaborating with carriers (shipping companies, freight forwarders) to negotiate rates, transit times, and service levels. Lead negotiator on all US Trucking distribution contracts Oversight of carrier rates and pricing agreements and collaboration with the accounts payables team as necessary for auditing and timely payment of vendor invoices. Responsible for Trade Lane management and optimization, in collaboration with Freight Suppliers. Lead Performance Reviews with all freight suppliers on a quarterly basis Monitor and provide monthly reports on cost to serve and logistics vendor performance. Work with team and vendors for quick response and resolutions to any transportation issues. Last-Mile Delivery: Final Leg: The last part of the delivery process, reaching the end customer. It’s crucial for customer satisfaction. Ensuring efficient and timely communication for deliveries to help reduce additional charges Warehousing and Distribution: Distribution Centers: Managing warehouses strategically placed in the supply chain network. These centers store and distribute goods efficiently. Inventory Control: Ensuring optimal inventory levels to prevent stockouts or excess inventory. Utilizing data analytics to forecast such inventory requirements accurately. Metric: Maintain a target inventory turnover ratio of at least X times per year. Supply Chain Oversee factory’s production planning to ensure alignment with our customers’ orders and forecast Implement forecasting techniques in partnership with current customers as well as to help predict market demands for our warehouses Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships with our factories to ensure the expectations of fulfillment of orders is met Other Functions Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends. Keep abreast of industry and market trends and best practices. Strategize and create resilient networks—alternate routes, contingency plans, and adaptive strategies. Monitor weekly KPI’s to ensure factory performance and freight expectations are met Technology and Visibility: Develop and track key performance indicators. Use KPI data to identify and drive projects to improve service levels, increase efficiency, improve compliance and/or yield cost to serve benefits. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, and at least ten years of related experience in logistics management. Experience in TPEB logistics design and optimization Must have experience in LMS, and overall experience in managing freight updates through an LMS. Visionary mindset with a passion for global connectivity. Ability to harmonize diverse transportation modes. Resilience in the face of challenges. Strong leadership and communication skills. Excellent background in Ocean, Trucking, Rail, and warehouse receiving operations. Skilled at sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to reduce costs and cycle time while maintaining quality of service and compliance. Qualifications:

  • Proficient in LMS and managing freight updates.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Background in Ocean, Trucking, Rail, and warehouse operations.

  • Skilled in sourcing and negotiating with suppliers.

  • Highly organized with strong project management skills.
