Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher with an active LBS1 certification to join our team in Lombard, IL. This full-time position involves working with junior high and high school students in a self-contained classroom. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering individualized instruction to students with diverse needs and will be passionate about creating a supportive, structured learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students in a self-contained setting.
Provide direct instruction in both academic and life skills areas.
Work with students who have varying learning needs, ensuring each student receives personalized support.
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to foster student success.
Monitor student progress and make necessary adjustments to teaching strategies and interventions.
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of each students educational goals.
Qualifications:
Valid Illinois LBS1 Special Education Teaching License (required).
Experience working with junior high and/or high school students in a self-contained classroom (preferred).
Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with students, families, and school staff.
