Job Description

• Help develop the company’s scale control product line by running mineral precipitation reactions. Responsibilities include calculating and performing dilutions, pipetting solutions, setting up reactions, making observations, and analyzing results by running atomic absorption spectroscopy (AA).

• Assist scientists in performing mineral flotation experiments. Responsibilities include grinding ore, pressing pellets, acid digestion, performing gravimetric analysis, and running x-ray fluorescence (XRF) instrument.

• Understand and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for moderately complex but routine tasks and analytical instrumentation, such as those mentioned above, and work independently once trained.

• Maintain a neat and organized lab environment by cleaning glassware and instrumentation thoroughly and in a timely manner.

• Use Excel to organize experimental data and send reports to scientists.

Hard Skills
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Chemistry or related science field
  • 1-2 years of industry lab experience preferably from a chemical testing lab
  • Atomic absorption spectroscopy (AA), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), and Gravimetric analysis experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with Excel
