We are seeking a skilled Quality Control Inspector to perform complex inspection procedures on CNC machine products and assemblies to ensure quality standards are met at the pre-ship and final stages of production. This position requires working independently, especially on Sundays when there are no supervisors on-site.
Responsibilities- Perform intricate visual inspection of complex pre-ship and/or finished production assemblies and sub-assemblies to ensure conformance with quality standards.
- Verify correct CMM program and product before running the program.
- Select and read appropriate documentation from a broad range of reference materials (Blue Print Reading).
- Select inspection method (such as first article checks, sampling, or 100% inspection).
- Apply knowledge of GD&T and interpretation of Quality Control Standards in determining pass/fail of inspected parts or assemblies.
- Access customer quality inspection systems via computer, communicate with Lead or Manager regarding inspection and quality issues, and conduct Post Pack Audits and Direct Fulfillment in-process Inspections.
- Determine cause and effect of defects and refer findings to manufacturing facilitators for correction.
- Review and approve solutions or refer unacceptable responses to the Quality Supervisor for further action.
- Act as the final checkpoint for finished goods prior to being shipped to customers or end-users.
- Train other employees in Quality Control processes and procedures.
- Ensure parts conform to customer quality standards and move parts to workstations for inspection, as necessary.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Developed expertise in function, typically through a combination of job-related training and extensive work experience.
- Complete tasks in a resourceful manner using specialized skill.
- Work on assignments of a non-routine nature and determine methods and procedures on newly introduced assignments.
- Knowledge of GD&T blue print reading.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Operate a personal computer including using a Windows-based operating system and related software.
- Knowledge of hand-held measurement tools and gages.
- Write simple correspondence and read and understand visual aids.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
- Deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Knowledge of CMM's (calypso preferred), micrometers, blueprints, quality control, inspection, and quality checks in the semiconductor industry.
- Experience with CMM programs such as PC Dismas, M. Cosmo, or Geo Measure.

Work EnvironmentMachine shop environment. You will work independently on A Shift with no supervisors present on Sundays. The role involves using various technologies and equipment to ensure product quality.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fremont, California.
