We are partnering with an organization in Baton Rouge to find a Sr. Accountant. This role is entrenched in the industry of full cycle accounting, with a focus on fund accounting within a governmental setting.

Responsibilities:


• Oversee and manage full cycle accounting operations.

• Conduct fund accounting tasks in a governmental setting.

• Utilize NetSuite software for various accounting tasks.

• Use Microsoft Excel for data analysis and presentation.

• Perform account reconciliation to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.

• Conduct balance sheet reconciliation to confirm account balances.

• Execute bank reconciliations to validate records.

• Maintain the general ledger to keep accurate financial records.

• Prepare journal entries for income and expenses.

• Manage month end close procedures to ensure timely reporting.

• Ideally will hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an Accountant or in a similar role.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.

• Skilled in working with General Ledger and Journal Entries.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

• Experience with Month End Close procedures.

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP accounting software.

• Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail.

• Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge in the field of accounting.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the specified location.
