Special Education in Stoneham

Position: Special Education Teacher
Location:Stoneham, MA
Duration: Full Time; 2024-2025 School Year
Caseload: Elementary options withMild to Moderate orBehavior Management. Middle School (7th Grade) Mild to Moderate. High School with Moderate to Severe Cognitive Abilities or a Strategies Teacher Caseload.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored for students with special needs.
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate the diverse learning abilities of students.
  • Employ various instructional techniques and technologies to facilitate engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, modifying teaching approaches as necessary.
  • Partner with general education teachers, counselors, and other specialists to enhance student learning and development.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians to update them on student progress and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • Valid Special Education Teaching License or eligibility for certification.
  • Proven experience with students with a range of learning needs and disabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of IEP development and implementation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive tools.
  • Understanding of behavior management techniques and positive behavior support strategies.
  • Capability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
