Screen Printer Tech
Overview
A Screen Printer operates a printing press to produce designs or images on sheet metal. This
position is responsible for adjusting the press settings as necessary, and producing high-quality
prints on a deadline. A successful Screen Printer has great attention to detail and technical skill, as
well as excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities
o Prepare designs and images for printing . (The designs and images will come from a
supplier)
o Set up and calibrate printing presses and equipment
o Select colors to match production order specifications
o Load materials onto presses, adjust settings, and conduct test runs
o Print designs or images onto material, inspects for quality, and make adjustments as
needed
o Clean and maintain printing presses and equipment
o Store finished products and materials in a safe and organized manner
Requirements
o High school diploma or equivalent required
o Experience operating a printing press or similar machinery
o Proficiency in graphic design software and computer systems is a plus but not necessary.
o Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently produce high-quality work
o Effective communication and problem-solving skills
o Physical dexterity and ability to operate machinery for extended periods of time
Working Conditions
o Screen Printers typically work in a production setting, requiring long periods of standing,
bending and stooping.
o Required to wear protective gear
o May be required to work overtime during evenings and/or weekends to meet production
demands
