LHH is assisting our client in their search for an Interim Controller. Previous experience working in a higher education environment is strongly preferred as well as some experience in the nonprofit sector. This is a temporary position, but could have permanent potential for the right candidate. The role will report onsite five days per week.

Job Overview:

Managing and directing accounting, accounts payable, and financial reporting functions

• Assisting the VP of Finance with budgeting functions, financial planning & forecasting, evaluating performance against budget and goals, cost/benefit analysis, banking activities, construction and property financing, and investment and cash management

• Managing and directing the external and internal auditing functions (A-133, NCAA, IRS Form 990 & 990T)

• Overseeing the accounting and analysis of grant accounts, gifts, scholarship funds, and restricted accounts

• Monitoring financial programs on an ongoing basis

• Preparing formal reports and participating in report presentations and reviews

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required

• CPA certification preferred

• 7+ years of accounting and/or auditing experience with 5 of them being in accounting management

• Higher Education experience strongly preferred

• Nonprofit industry experience strongly preferred

• Advanced proficiency with MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s)

• Strong leadership capabilities

• Effective communication - both written and verbal

• Ability to evaluate and improve upon current policies and procedures

Pay Rate: $50/hr-$60/hr DOE

Pay Details: $50.00 to $60.00 per hour
