LHH is assisting our client in their search for an Interim Controller. Previous experience working in a higher education environment is strongly preferred as well as some experience in the nonprofit sector. This is a temporary position, but could have permanent potential for the right candidate. The role will report onsite five days per week.
Job Overview:
Managing and directing accounting, accounts payable, and financial reporting functions
Assisting the VP of Finance with budgeting functions, financial planning & forecasting, evaluating performance against budget and goals, cost/benefit analysis, banking activities, construction and property financing, and investment and cash management
Managing and directing the external and internal auditing functions (A-133, NCAA, IRS Form 990 & 990T)
Overseeing the accounting and analysis of grant accounts, gifts, scholarship funds, and restricted accounts
Monitoring financial programs on an ongoing basis
Preparing formal reports and participating in report presentations and reviews
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
CPA certification preferred
7+ years of accounting and/or auditing experience with 5 of them being in accounting management
Higher Education experience strongly preferred
Nonprofit industry experience strongly preferred
Advanced proficiency with MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s)
Strong leadership capabilities
Effective communication - both written and verbal
Ability to evaluate and improve upon current policies and procedures
Pay Rate: $50/hr-$60/hr DOE
Pay Details: $50.00 to $60.00 per hour
