Job Description

As a General Laborer, you will read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, bills of materials, or reports to determine material requirements or assembly instructions. You must be physically able to lift, push, and pull up to 45 lbs. consistently through a 10-hour shift. You will double-check connections to ensure they match and report any issues to the Supervisor. Effective communication with co-workers on the assembly line is essential to ensure maximum speed and accuracy. You will also maintain and take responsibility for equipment (hand tools, etc.) that are issued, receive, unload, and transfer materials to different workstations, and maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment, ensuring compliance with the company’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, bills of materials, or reports to determine material requirements or assembly instructions.
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 45 lbs. consistently through a 10-hour shift.
  • Double-check connections to ensure they match and report issues to the Supervisor.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers on the assembly line to ensure maximum speed and accuracy.
  • Maintain and assume responsibility for equipment (hand tools, etc.) that are issued.
  • Receive, unload, and transfer materials to different workstations.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment, ensuring compliance with the company’s policies and procedures.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Experience in commercial construction and assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and blueprints.
  • Understanding of both metric and imperial units of measure.
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately in millimeters and fractions for standard industry construction.
  • Capability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment up to 45 lbs.

  • Experience with general labor, construction, production, assembly, solar, and carpentry.
  • Punctuality and reliability.

Work Environment

The warehouse environment is typically in the construction phase, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes with composite toe reinforcement above the ankle. The work environment includes active construction contractors performing work such as electrical, millwright, concrete, plumbing, and lighting tasks. Facilities are limited, with porta potties until the bathrooms are operational, dust, debris, and equipment being operated. There are limited entrances, designated parking areas, and lunchrooms, and onsite storage is available.
