Job Description
The Senior Electrical Technician plays a critical role in the development of innovative medical devices. This position involves setting up electrical equipment, and designing, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting electronic components and systems. Initially, the candidate will start with smaller assembly tests such as PCBs and circuit boards but will progress to full systems as they advance in the role. The technician will collaborate closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure that products meet regulatory standards and performance specifications. This role is primarily lab-based, with some reporting and data collection responsibilities. The ideal candidate will work with a team of 5-6 engineers on various tests. Key responsibilities include setting up and evaluating electrical tests currently in development to ensure accurate and reliable data collection. They will execute design verification tests to validate product performance against specifications and provide timely and constructive feedback to engineers based on test results and observations. Troubleshooting and resolving issues with prototypes and existing products is also a crucial part of the role. Additionally, this person will collaborate with engineering teams to refine specifications and improve product functionality. They will document test procedures, results, and any design changes in compliance with company and regulatory standards. Assisting in the preparation of technical reports and presentations for project stakeholders is another important responsibility. The technician will maintain equipment and instruments, train and mentor junior technicians and interns as needed, and participate in design reviews and project planning activities. Furthermore, the candidate will use internal resources and qualified external vendors to assist engineering teams in identifying and obtaining supplies and services. Acting as a resource to other employees, communicating project status to project teams, and assisting project teams in establishing specifications and quality standards are also part of the role.
Compensation:
$20/hr to $35/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
