Job Title: Meat Manager

Location: Pawtucket, RI

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Meat Manager to lead our meat department operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the meat department, ensuring high standards of quality, presentation, and customer service. This role requires strong leadership abilities, in-depth knowledge of meat products, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the operations of the meat department, including product selection, inventory control, and merchandising.
• Ensure the quality and freshness of all meat products, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate meat department staff, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase sales, improve product assortment, and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular inventory counts to minimize waste and spoilage.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality meat products.
• Create attractive product displays and promotional signage to engage customers and drive sales.
• Handle customer inquiries and concerns regarding meat products, providing expert advice and recommendations.
• Monitor department performance, analyze sales data, and report on key metrics to management.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in meat processing or a related field is a plus.
• Proven experience in a meat department management role within a grocery or food retail environment.
• Strong knowledge of meat products, cuts, and preparation techniques.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
• Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and building customer relationships.
• Proficient in inventory management systems and basic computer applications.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items and stand for long periods in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work in a refrigerated environment and adhere to safety protocols.
