As a CNC Programmer, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process by ensuring that our CNC machines produce high-quality components efficiently and accurately for a plastics and thermoforming fabrication company. You will be responsible for interpreting engineering drawings, setting up and operating CNC machinery, and programming machines to produce complex parts. This position requires a strong understanding of machining and programming principles using MasterCAM. The CNC Programmer will work closely with engineers and production staff to optimize processes and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production. You will also be responsible for maintaining machinery, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and helping to develop best practices for machining processes. Our ideal candidate is highly organized, possesses excellent problem-solving skills, and has a strong commitment to achieving production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize CNC programs based on engineering specifications and drawings with MasterCAM.
  • Set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes and milling machines, for production runs.
  • Perform initial machine testing to ensure program accuracy and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to improve product designs for manufacturability.
  • Monitor tooling and machine performance to maintain quality standards during production.
  • Implement and maintain safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Document and maintain records of programming changes, production runs, and machine performance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CNC Programmer using MasterCAM.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machinery and programming languages such as G-code and M-code.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and its application in machining processes.
  • Solid mathematical skills and the ability to apply concepts of algebra and geometry.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
