Senior Accountant

A client of ours is looking for a Senior Accountant for a contract role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, public accounting, and demonstrated expertise in advanced accounting systems. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team while managing key financial operations.

Responsibilities of Senior Accountant

• Prepare and analyze financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain the integrity of accounting data.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Provide support in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Oversee and implement efficient accounting systems, including AS400, Onstream, and/or Tririga, if applicable.
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard financial data.
• Mentor and guide junior team members when necessary.

Skills/Qualifications of Senior Accountant

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
• 5+ years of accounting experience (required).
• Financial reporting experience is mandatory.
• Public accounting experience and/or certifications such as CPA, CMA, or an MBA are strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint (required).
• Experience with AS400, Onstream, and/or Tririga (preferred).
• Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• A self-driven mindset with the ability to thrive in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict reporting deadlines.
