Virtual Physical Therapist (PT)

Location: New York (Remote)
Job Type: Part-Time Summer Contract
Pay: $45/Hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive virtual assessments to evaluate students' physical abilities, needs, and challenges.
  • Develop and implement individualized physical therapy plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs and educational goals.
  • Provide direct virtual physical therapy sessions to students, utilizing various online tools and platforms.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to integrate physical therapy goals and strategies into the students' overall educational plans.
  • Offer guidance and training to parents and caregivers on how to support students' physical development at home.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions, assessments, and progress reports.
  • Stay current with best practices, research, and developments in the field of physical therapy and virtual education.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing input on students' progress and recommendations for continued support.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines related to special education and physical therapy services.


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current New York State licensure as a Physical Therapist.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Physical Therapist, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
  • Experience with virtual therapy platforms and telehealth services is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations, particularly related to IEPs and 504 plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff in a virtual environment.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain detailed records.
