We are a leading provider of advanced equipment and service solutions for onsite emergency power. Our company specializes in cost-effective service and repairs on a wide range of commercial and industrial generators. We are currently seeking experienced field service generator technicians with a strong background in generator systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform service, maintenance, and repairs on various makes and sizes of generators, including diesel, natural gas, and LP gas generators.

  • Inspect, repair, service, and start-up load bank test equipment.

  • Troubleshoot generator components, including engines, alternators, controllers, wiring harnesses, safety devices, battery systems, and cooling systems.

  • Conduct start-up and load bank testing of equipment.

  • Handle switchgear and paralleling systems.

  • Perform engine overhauls and preventative maintenance.

  • Apply technical skills to identify issues and determine corrective actions through logical troubleshooting steps.

  • Repair and troubleshoot engines from various manufacturers such as Cummins, Detroit Diesel, John Deere, MTU, and Volvo.

  • Work on generators across a range of wattages, from kW to MW capacities.

  • Provide services at various customer sites, applying both electrical and mechanical expertise.

  • Complete daily field service reports (FSRs).

Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Clean criminal and driving records.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with industrial power generation sets or similar transferrable skills.

  • Extensive experience with testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment, specifically within generator systems.

  • Familiarity with a wide range of generator brands and models, with experience across various wattage ranges from kW to MW.

  • Proven experience in load bank testing, engine overhauls, preventative maintenance, and switchgear/paralleling systems.

  • Hands-on experience working at various customer sites, providing specialized generator services.

  • Must have a personal set of general tools required for a Generator Field Service Technician.

  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds if necessary.

  • Proficient in using computers and mobile devices for web-based service and work order systems.

  • Physically able to lift 75 pounds without restrictions.

  • Relevant certifications, such as OEM training and EGSA certification, are preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Strong customer relationship management skills.
