$75,000 (Licensed-eligible therapist with AMFT, APCC or ACSW)

Location: San Ysidro School District School Site

Schedule: Monday through Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Must be available to work until 7 p.m. one evening per week to meet the various needs of the program.

Program:

SBCS' Outpatient Clinic program offers a comprehensive array of outpatient therapeutic services for children and adolescents. Services include (1) individual therapy, (2) family therapy, (3) crisis intervention, (4) case management, (5) group therapy and (6) linkage to additional SBCS and community resources.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Program Director and Department Director, the Clinician is responsible for providing trauma-informed mental health services to SBCS' clients - both in the schools and the community. The Clinician is responsible for providing a comprehensive array of therapeutic services, including crisis intervention, case management, individual and family therapeutic services, and linkage to community resources for children and adolescents. Services will be in keeping with agency goals, objectives, mission and style and provided within a team framework. Associates are responsible for working with the team in developing team goals and objectives and in meeting those goals and objectives.


DUTIES:

  • Provide therapeutic services including individual, family & group therapy, case management, and crisis intervention services at the office, contracted schools and in the community, to clients and their families.
  • Conduct intakes, assessments, and treatment plans with clients.
  • Conduct strengths-based assessments and develop service plans with clients.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, individual supervision, and clinical group supervision.
  • Ensure flexibility of scheduling to meet the needs of SBCS' clients, including a minimum of one evening per week.
  • Facilitate coordination of services as well as contacts with other organizations and individuals, as necessary to effectively serve clients.
  • Provide psycho-education and safety planning services to clients
  • Complete all required case file documentation in a timely and routine fashion.
  • Maintain client case files in accordance with County and Agency standards to include electronic health records (EHR)in County required databases.
  • Communicate with other involved parties and agencies on a regular basis, including other resources available to clients.
  • Prepare monthly statistics for required County and Agency reports.
  • Adhere to agency and County client confidentiality, HIPAA, and mandated reporting policies.
  • Attend and participate in agency required trainings and activities.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, individual supervision and clinical group supervision
  • Meet the minimum number of required billing units on a weekly basis as well as caseload size.
  • Assist with outreach to target population in order to effectively reach those in need of services.
  • Assist with implementing contractual and programmatic components.
  • As other duties assigned.


  • Master's degree with current BBS registration as an LMFT, LPCC, LCSW, or AMFT. APCC, or ACSW.
  • Minimum 1 - 2 years of experience in child, youth and family services field.
  • Experience should preferably have been in a community based or neighborhood service organization.
  • Maintain an active BBS intern number or license.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population, possess cultural sensitivity, and maintain appropriate boundaries with clients.
  • Experience working with CCBH/Cerner/SmartCare highly recommended.
  • Fluent Spanish speaker with the ability to read and write in Spanish, preferred.

  • Employment may be conditioned upon satisfactory completion of certain background clearances which may include a Department of Justice criminal background check requiring my fingerprints (Live Scan), screening through the National Sex Offender Public Website, drug test, tuberculosis (TB) test, and such additional clearances as may be required under the program.
  • Candidate is required to have reliable transportation; therefore, the candidate must successfully complete a motor history check. Candidate must also possess and maintain a current valid California driver's license and valid auto insurance policy. (Approximately 10% - 15% of the time.)

Physical demands:

  • Mentally and emotionally: Ability to work under deadlines, various projects and dealing with clients in crisis and difficult situations.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position during shift.

  • Transports an object, from 20 to 50 lbs. across the facility, for various needs.

  • Ascending or descending stairs and ladders when applicable. Body agility is emphasized.
  • Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when ascending, descending, traversing.
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist, requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Handling: Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with objects or office machinery.
  • Communicating: Expressing or exchanging ideas. Communicating is important for those activities in which workers must impart information to clients or to the public, and in those activities in which they must convey detailed or important instructions to other workers accurately, or quickly.
